But what does that actually mean in practice?
It means we are rethinking the traditional spray can, making it safer and greener without compromising on performance.
A different kind of spray can
Traditional aerosol cans use chemical propellants to push the product out of the can. These propellants are often flammable, resulting in additional hazard classifications on the packaging.
alu-air works differently.
Instead of harmful propellants, the alu-air system uses compressed air to spray the product under high pressure. This means the product itself comes out of the can, without unnecessary gases mixed in.
So while alu-air is still a pressurized can, it avoids the highly flammable propellants commonly found in traditional aerosols.
That makes it an important step towards safer product systems.
Safer by design
